Therapy with Dr. Shira Danzig

Dr. Shira Kaufman Danzig, offering therapy in New York CityNew York is a fast-paced city, often keeping you one step behind your ambitions and inner fulfillment.

I strive to provide you with the space to explore what’s holding you back, in an environment that’s laid back and warm.

Whatever your struggle, we can work together to reduce stress, implement coping skills, and find meaning.

My offices are located in New York City and Scarsdale.

What the first session looks like

Therapy begins with an open-ended, “getting- to- know-you” session.

We will discuss your motivations for therapy, your current symptoms, and goals for your treatment.

Together we will decide on a treatment plan that meets you where you are.

What therapy will look like

You can expect a lot of feedback, support, and guidance in your sessions as you work towards your goals.

I believe in a personalized combination of therapy techniques that can work with your unique circumstances and challenges.

The aim is always to help you realize sustainable, authentic, changes in your life.

Meeting you where you are

Most clients choose to come to therapy at the same time every week, but I can be flexible with your appointments if that’s what you need.

Evening appointments are available, as are home visits for pre- and postpartum women.

If you are currently receiving medication, I will consult with the professionals involved in your care to ensure a coordinated treatment plan for your physical and mental well-being.

I can also refer you to a psychiatrist if needed.

I can come to you

I am available for consultations to schools, organizations, and religious institutions.

I also can visit you at home if you are a mom who finds it difficult to leave your house while pregnant or with a new baby.
